Solar Panels & Modules
Charge Controllers & Inverters
Intelligent people generate their
own electricity
and reduce their dependence on an
increasingly unreliable utility grid.
Even a small system will “slow the
meter down”, reducing your monthly electric bill
while paying for itself at the same
time. A larger system may ”turn
the meter backwards”, so that excess power is sold back
to the utility. Producing your own power is not only satisfying,
but can protect you during a power failure as well.
How
Solar Works

Solar cells
are made of thin layers of silicon. When sunlight strikes
the cells, chemical reactions release electrons, generating
electric current. Individual cells are grouped together
to form solar modules which, when installed on the roof
or ground as a component of a complete solar system, generate
electricity.
Sharp
Solar Systems:
The Economical and Ecological Choice
Sharp is the #1 manufacturer of solar cells worldwide with
nearly as much generating capacity as the next three largest
manufacturers combined. Our residential solar systems give
families the ability to generate their own electricity from
the inexhaustible energy of the sun - with no harmful emissions.
They're cost-effective, quiet, attractive, safe, and reliable,
with only minimal maintenance required over their long operational
life. They're the right choice for your home and the right
choice for the environment. It's no wonder why so many homeowners
are making the move to Sharp Solar.
Tomorrow's Energy Today
Imagine solar electricity not only powering businesses,
large-scale utilities and neighborhoods, but also billboards,
streetlamps and portable electronics. Sharp's commitment
towards environment-friendly products brings you tomorrow's
energy today.
Sharp's
NE-80EJE photovoltaic modules offer industry-leading performance,
durability and reliability for a variety of electrical power
requirements. These modules use a textured cell surface
to reduce the reflection of sunlight, and BSF (Black Surface
Field) structure to improve conversion efficiency.
An anti-reflective
coating provides a uniform blue color and increases the
absorption of light in all weather conditions. Designed
to withstand vigorous weather conditions, a junction box
is also provided for easy electrical connection in the field.

The SQ Series
include the SQ75 module - our
most popular for industrial and home power systems. These
modules feature Shell Solar's 125 mm single crystal solar
cells, and industrial construction with a rugged tempered
glass face and aluminum frame. New for 2004 are the large
format SQ modules. These high output panels use 72 cells,
and produce 24 volts. Their 2:1 aspect ratio makes them
attractive and easier to install. Ideal for larger residential
and industrial systems. The 4.4 amp SQ75 is powerful and
compact. Thousands of SQ75's are installed each year in
Canada and the United States.

Photovoltaics (PV)
provide clean, quiet, reliable electricity
from sunlight where traditional sources
are too distant, expensive, or environmentally unacceptable.
With no moving parts to wear out, no emissions of any kind,
and a limitless, readily available power source, PV meets
the need for electricity in places and ways that other sources
simply cannot.
Features:
This module is field-selectable to nominal 12 or 24 volts.
Junction boxes
have two spare terminals for pass-through wiring and four
knockouts, providing designers and installers with interconnection
options for every application.
Factory-installed wires, connectors, and bypass diode(s)
available.
Polycrystalline solar cells outperform thin films achieving
comparable performance to bulk crystalline technologies
and using half as much silicon.
The proprietary and environmentally friendly cell fabrication
process gives predictable, reliable, long-term performance.
Solar cells are matched to reduce internal losses and hot
spots.
Rugged, durable anodized aluminum frame.
Industry standard EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) and TedlarTM
construction protects solar cells from mechanical and environmental
stress.
